A second and final run doubled the original edition of 300, here number 281 i.e. part of the first run. Apparently publisher ICA had second and third thoughts when it came to the final edition number. It first decided to extend the edition from 300 to 500. Then another 100 were added and presented as a final second run of 300 copies. Below you will find a screen shot of their website made on 7th of December 2019.

The sentence “Your gaze hits the side of my face” phrase first appeared in an 1981 artwork along with the profile of an anonymous classical bust. A phrasing that suggests that such a gaze is impertinent. When it comes to the lens of a camera Barbara Kruger says: ‘What it menas to put a camera at another person, I think there is a brutality about that.’

Much of Barbara Kruger’s work engages the merging of found photographs from existing sources with pithy and aggressive text that involves the viewer in the struggle for power and control that her captions speak to. She develops her ideas on a computer, later transferring the results to oftentimes billboard-sized images.
