This book contains reproductions of A3 drawings from a 2014 exhibit at Circuit, Lausanne, Switzerland.
‘Tom Johnson is a composer who uses logic and mathematical models, such as combinatorics of numbers, in his music. The patterns he finds while “looking at numbers” can also be explored in drawings. This book focuses on such drawings, their beauty and their mathematical meaning.’

JAAP KRONEMAN, Fraktur, 2004
60,5 x 38,5cm,
artist’s book, 14 pp.
ink on fluorescent cardboard, duct tape, painterly stains, digital print, accordeon binding,
text in Dutch by Jaap Kroneman ‘in an edition of 1’
signed with dedication, dated

During the Second World War, Jonas Mekas fled the Nazis, ending up in New York in 1949, where he became a key figure in experimental cinema. In “Remeniscences” brief and fragmentary impressions of his trip to Lithuania are depicted. He visited his old family home and reunites with his mother and other family members.
It was already summer, we left the village of Flensburg.
Ships were already sailing in the water-meadow, and
on the coastal piers, on the water, under the fishing boats
the warmth flickered.
And when we went on,
on and on, until we reached Glücksburg –
there, children were already splashing around,
wading through the dense forest of reeds.”

“In The Neutronics Greatest Hits, Marroquin takes on the genre of the music video as the carrier of his underlying critique of mass media. Intended as part of the programming for Marroquin’s Amsterdam/New York satellite broadcast called The Link, the work is both a music video and a documentation of a live performance given by the concept band at the Mazzo club in Amsterdam.”

In 2006 Jonathan Monk told David Shrigley in an interview: “I now think the only thing that stayed with me after art school was the idea of context. What and where things are placed in relationship to other things in the world.”
