The House Project (1974-2007) is originally a sculpture installed in the open air by Hreinn Fridfinnsson. Once he read about an aristocratic character in an Icelandic novel who decided to build his house inside-out, with wallpaper, curtains and framed photos as its façade, to turn the outside as indoors. And the other way around. Hreinn Fridfinnsson honoured this idea of erecting such a house again in the middle of nowhere in the high lands of Iceland in 1974.

For some obscure reasons the print House Project was offered at Waterside Project Space on Wharf Road in London in 2012. The apparently 2nd print was announced as being printed in an edition of 100. Its size has different proportions compared to the Serpentine print.

In 2002 Klaas Kloosterboer visited the renovated men’s toilet rooms at Schiphol Airport and was confronted with newly designed urinals that depict a fly target embossed on the porcelain. It matched fully with his ideas on occupying empty spaces on canvasses he was dealing with as a painter. Obviously this sight was a good reason to picture it for a photo work that he used for the cover of this publication.

Dutch artist Otto Egberts started his career in the 1980’s. His subject is the individual that stands alone in an enstranged sub-realism expressed through painting, drawing and installations. In 2012 he started an in Dutch written blog criticizing various elites in society and predicting the downfall of the Occident.
In “Verspreide Koppen” each page on the right depicts a head dramatically tormented by strange objects and geometrical forms.

This catalogue “Olivier Mosset & Steven Parrino” is published in 1990 by Galerie Pierre Huber, Geneva, Switzerland. Two Post-it papers were tipped in by Steven Parrino for availability of works to be hung in Galerie van Gelder, Amsterdam in 1993. The first Post-it paper contains a drawing describing a wrong hang of one of his paintings as reproduced in the catalogue.

This is a tote bag with a syllogistic quote from the artist: ‘Art is shit. Art galleries are toilets. Curators are toilet attendants. Artists are bullshitters.’ Apparently in the eyes of Martin Creed galleries show shit and curators are therefore toilet attendants, while artists produce shit. He says: ‘The more I work, the more I think I don’t know what I am doing. I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. It is like sweat or shit. It comes out as I go along …’.
