When this item with Truisms was distributed on behalf of Jenny Holzer’s solo exhibition at Foundation Beyeler in 2009, for many new owners it was apparently quite tempting to peel off one or more of these stickers. By now, this bag with all the stickers intact has become a rarity. Once a sticker is peeled off Holzer’s one-liners appear to be printed under the stickers. This bag is intact and since almost two decades this shopping bag is extremely difficult to find. Note that both sides of the bag are provided with stickers.

‘July’s edition is a small ceramic depicting two seahorses mating. The seahorses were the object from my Frieze Projects in New York last May. I made these ceramics in Portland, Oregon. I pressed the seahorse into the clay… Looks like a fossil…’. David Horvitz, from mail 25 June 2016.

In 1992 John M Armleder invited several gallerists for showing multiples at the Basel Art Fair. Participating publishers and gallerists: Daniel Buchholz, Cologne / Ecart, Geneva / Gallery John Gibson, New York / Galerie van Gelder, Amsterdam / Daniel Newburg, New York. His idea was to initiate nomadic exhibitions in different towns. For the multiple show in Galerie van Gelder in Amsterdam he designed the AP logo, i.e. a tumbled zero with the letters AP.
